The Venizelion Scholarship Program is a valuable member benefit that recognizes PAA/PYA student members with high scholastic achievement and for active involvement in PAA programs. Through the continued generosity of PAA Scholarship Donors, scholarships are available to student members for undergraduate and graduate studies.
The Venizelos Memorial Educational Fund was established in 1936 at the national convention in Boston. By 1940, the name of the program was changed to the PAA Venizelion Scholarship. It is a valuable member benefit that recognizes PAA/PYA student members with high scholastic achievement and for active involvement in PAA programs. Through the continued generosity of PAA Scholarship Donors, scholarships are available to student members for undergraduate and graduate studies.

The Venizelion Scholarship Program aids young Cretan men and women enrolled in U.S. undergraduate programs. Awards are based on academic merit, active PAA/PYA membership and participation. Applicants may receive up to two (2) Venizelion Scholarships for undergraduate studies.
The Paterakis Graduate Scholarship was established in 2015 through the generosity of PAA members George A. and Angela Paterakis. It was Mr. Paterakis’ desire to assist students pursuing degrees at the graduate level in the U.S. Graduate students are eligible for up to two (2) Paterakis awards during their graduate studies.
Both scholarship awards recognize students of high scholastic achievement who are actively involved in the PAA. By preserving the legacy of the PAA founding fathers’ commitment to providing financial assistance to its members in their pursuit of higher education, the PAA is also investing in the future leaders of our organization.
